Knoxville hosts the annual Let’s Move! Event as part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s national campaign to fight childhood obesity. The event, held in Victor Ashe Park, is free to the public, and provides many different fun and unique ways to get families up and moving, while also educating them on healthy nutritional practices.
Kids will be provided with a “Let’s Move Adventure Map” to guide them along the park’s greenway loop, where they will spend time at more than 80 activity stations!
Parents can also find different ways to get their children plugged into local sports leagues, as just about every sports league in Knoxville is represented at this event.
A wide variety of nutrition stations will be set up as well, including fresh fruit and vegetable tasting, recipe demonstrations, seed planting, health screenings, and more!
The Let’s Move! Event is made possible every year with the support of over 15 local and national organizations, spearheaded by the City of Knoxville Parks & Recreation Department and Knox County Coordinated School Health.
